Turkish Dinners

A Turkish tradition has it that when Noah saw that his ark came to rest on top of Mt Ararat and the flood waters were receding he wished to celebrate the event.  Alas! There was nothing to cook.  He then collected what he found at the bottom of baskets and storage jars; fruits, nuts, grains and other scraps and cooked them together.  The result was today’s popular Turkish dish asure, Noah’s Pudding.  It is a sweet in which each of its ingredients retains its distinctive taste, yet the mixture has its own taste, which is more than the total of all the tastes.

With that introduction, the Red Brick Church of Exeter is kicking off its 2016 International Potluck Dinners by inviting all of you and your adult family and friends to join us for an evening dining in the country of Turkey. Seating is limited. To register go to Facebook and click on going or  email us at
